Sales of residential property in Spain in May showed an increase of 107% over the same period last year. This is a record increase in the entire history of observations. Compared to April, the growth was 11.4%.

In May, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), there were 47,033 home sales transactions in Spain. The most popular were apartments in new buildings, which provided 115% growth (9199 transactions). Secondary home sales rose 105.9% to 37,834 units sold.

The residents of Valencia, Murcia and Aragon were the most active (in terms of the number of transactions per 100,000 population) in the residential real estate market. And most of the transactions were made in Andalusia (9684), Catalonia (7614), Valencia (6675) and Madrid (6474).
